Description
The Langwieser See is a small lake. The lake itself isn't very good for birding, but sometimes you can spot kuningaskalastaja there. In the reed area about 100 meters east of the lake, in winter you can see for example pajusirkku and sometimes also Luhtakana. In summer it's full of rytikerttunen. West to the lake, there are nice water reservoirs, which in winter often contain jänkäkurppa (best to spot with a thermal imaging camera), and sometimes taivaanvuohi.
South to the reservoirs, there is a smal bush land with keltasirkku, tikli and in winter often järripeippo. In the gardens and trees along the small stream you can find vihervarpunen in winter and leppälintu and pensaskerttu in summer. Sometimes you can also hear a etelänsatakieli here.
Very good are the fields around the whole area. During migration you can see niittykirvinen, luhtakerttunen, mustapäätasku (sometimes also staying over winter), kanahaukka, kivitasku, keltavästäräkki, hernekerttu and rarely käenpiika, töyhtöhyyppä and sinisuohaukka. All year round you will find hemppo, kiuru, harmaahaikara and tuulihaukka. Sometimes you can also see peltopyy, varpushaukka or muuttohaukka.
