Description
Open ponds with reed fringes, mudflats and some islands for breeding birds. Apart from a variety of waders and waterfowl the area is quite good for raptors, e.g. muuttohaukka and merikotka.
Typical breeding birds: punajalkaviklo, avosetti, kalatiira, sinirinta, ruokokerttunen, Luhtakana.
Migration: Any kind of wader, terns, ducks
Winter: uivelo and many other duck species, many geese (particularly valkoposkihanhi and tundrahanhi), divers, kapustarinta.
Despite being created only recently the area already held a few national rarities: neitokurki (2014), breeding pitkäjalka (2014), pitkäkoipisirri (2019).

Access
The site can be accessed easily via Ölstraße from Diekmannshausen (2 km), either by car or by bicycle. No public transport available.
