Description

Jungferweiher combines several habitats. The maar with its reed beds, meadows and grassy areas, and the surrrounding woods. A path (approx. 3 km) encircles the maar, so all habitats are accessible. There is a bird viewing screen on the west side of the maar. Birds can be seen year-round and various types of ducks winter here. A campground on the western edge gives easy access to the entire area. Among the birds you can encounter are Lapasorsa, tavi, punasotka, pikku-uikku, silkkiuikku, kaulushaikara, Luhtakana, taivaanvuohi, rantasipi and kuningaskalastaja.
