Description
You will reach the monument on your drive from Tblisi to Kazbegi, a few kilometers before the Jvari pass. It is a tourist attraction with car park and people selling food and memorabilia. There is a large observation platform and a smaller one near the car park. Look up for migrating birds like Mehiläishaukka, sirovarpushaukka, haarahaukka or local maakotka, alppikiitäjä or korppi. On the rocks below you can see species like alppivaris, alppinaakka, alppirautiainen, kalliokiipijä and sepelrastas. Check the grassland for vuorikirvinen and kultahemppo.
