Réserve Naturelle des Étangs et Rigoles d'Yveline is a protected part of the larger lake of Saint-Quentin and its riparian environments. More than 230 nesting and migrating bird species have been recorded in the 87 hectares of the reserve. Among the birds you can see are ristisorsa, jouhisorsa, Lapasorsa, pikku-uikku, käki, Luhtakana, töyhtöhyyppä, taivaanvuohi, mustanmerenlokki, mustatiira, kalatiira, silkkihaikara, lehmähaikara, yöhaikara, virtavästäräkki, etelänsatakieli and kuningaskalastaja. The lake of Saint-Quentin is located 10 km west of Versailles. Réserve Naturelle des Étangs et Rigoles d'Yveline is the protected part of the lake situated on the western tip of the lake. The reserve is only open twice a month. You can find the opening days at the link below. There are several parkings. Click on the P in the map to get directions to the parking. From the parkings you can explore the area on foot.
