Marais du Douhet is particularly interesting because it brings together a great diversity of species, sometimes in high density and at all times of the year.
Among the nesting birds are the punajalkaviklo, the pitkäjalka, the silkkikerttunen, the heinäkerttu, the tuulihaukka or the ristisorsa. During migration, the isovesipääsky or the mustaleppälintu are passing through. In winter, sepelhanhi, kapustarinta and töyhtöhyyppä are stationed on the site.
All year round shorebirds, ducks, gulls, herons, grebes and many others are present.
