Cette forêt abrite plusieurs espèces de pics ( käpytikka, pikkutikka, palokärki, vihertikka, tammitikka et plusieurs autres espèces forestieres etelänpuukiipijä, pähkinänakkeli ... Vous pourrez également voir des arbres remarquables : hêtre "ventru" ( arbre mort mais toujours visible) et le chêne de Madame.

Forêt du Petit Essart is located in a bend of the river Seine, 20 km south of the city of Rouen. Press P on the map for directions to the parking lot. From the parking a 7 km signposted loop walk starts.
