Étang Turlet is located at the southern exit of the town of Villars-les-Dombes. The lake has mainly open shallow water with some scarce reedbeds and wet woodlands. On the northern bank of the lake is a bird hide. Among the bird you can observe are harmaasorsa, haapana, jouhisorsa, punapäänarsku, tukkasotka, punasotka, tavi, heinätavi, kyhmyjoutsen, ruskohaikara, kattohaikara, ruskosuohaukka, valkoposkitiira, silkkiuikku, pikku-uikku and mustakaulauikku.

Access
Étang Turlet is located south of the town of Villars-les-Dombes. You can park along the road close to the lake. Click on the P in the map for directions. From parking spot it is just a 100 m walk to the bird hide.
