Description

Ovesø or Ove Lake is an 8 km long lake located in Thy. The lake is narrow and the deepest parts of the lake is two and a half meter. The area is a protected Natura 2000 area and consists mainly of reed bed. The area is protected as an important site for the otter and was for a period its only habitat in Denmark, but is also together with surrounding fields and meadows habitat for resting birds. Among the birds you can see here are merikotka, heinätavi, kyhmyjoutsen, pikkujoutsen, laulujoutsen, punasotka, harmaahaikara and kalatiira.
