Description
The Klokkeven pond borders the De Volharding nature reserve. You can observe many wintering birds on the large ponds: haapana, tundrahanhi, tundrametsähanhi, tavi, nokikana and jalohaikara. The Klokkeven itself is inaccessible, but there is an accessible dirt road to explore the area. You are not allowed to deviate from the dirt road and go to the pond, since this is a protected nature reserve.

Nederlands: Het Klokkeven grenst aan natuurgebied De Volharding. Het zijn voormalige kleiontginning waterplassen die nu natuur zijn met erom heen bos en stukken heide. Veel overwinterende vogels op de grote waterplassen: haapana, tundrahanhi, tundrametsähanhi, tavi, nokikana en jalohaikara. Het Klokkeven zelf is ontoegankelijk, maar er loopt wel een zandweg rond het gebied. Dat betekent dus dat je niet van de zandweg mag afwijken en naar het water toe gaan, aangezien dit beschermd natuurgebied is. Het ven is goed te overzien vanaf de hengelzone (te bereiken via Oostmalle: straat Heikant-Oost en Klokkeven).

Can be reached via the Heikant Oost/Klokkeneven intersection. Take the dirt path. Leave your car at this intersection as the dirt road can be in bad shape.
