Description
The Put van Vlissegem was created by the extraction of sand and clay and has salty water. Because the lake does not freeze over during the winter months, the lake attracts wintering water birds such as haapana, Lapasorsa, jouhisorsa, tavi and mustakaulauikku. Breeding birds include ruokokerttunen, Luhtakana, pikku-uikku, ristisorsa and tukkasotka. During migration there is a chance of seeing wading birds such as mustaviklo, valkoviklo, metsäviklo, rantasipi and suokukko. There is a bird hide on the western bank of the lake.

Doordat de plas tijdens de wintermaanden niet toevriest trekt de put overwinterende watervogels zoals haapana, Lapasorsa, jouhisorsa, tavi en mustakaulauikku.
