Description
The Handzame Broeken area consists of a extensive agricultural area, being mainly pastures, with scattered trees, bushes and willow tree lanes. The Kreekebeek river flows through the area and is a great spot for waterfowl, like tavi, haapana and Lapasorsa. The surrounding pastures are good for flocks of töyhtöhyyppä. In winter, these pastures are part of the hunting grounds for sinisuohaukka. In winter, area is also good for laulujoutsen.
The scattered (willow) trees are great for observing minervanpöllö and uuttukyyhky. The scattered bushes and fences are a great spot for breeding species, like mustapäätasku and pensastasku.
