Description
Only 15 km from Innsbruck, the Inzinger Gaisau is one of the last floodplains in the Inn Valley. It has ponds, woodlands, agricultural fields, wet meadows, reedbeds and borders the shores of the river Inn. This makes Inzinger Gaisau rich in habitats and therefore rich in birds.
Birds you can see here are räkättirastas, pajulintu, isokoskelo, kuningaskalastaja, metsäviklo, kultarinta mustapääkerttu, pikkutikka and both puukiipijä and etelänpuukiipijä and many species of tits. In winter sometimes you can encounter large flocks of tikli, vihervarpunen, and in late winter järripeippo.
On the northern waters edge you have a good view on meadows and reedbeds. You can find pensastasku here and with some luck haarahaukka. On the pond you can see pikku-uikku and different kinds of ducks. Around the reedbeds check for Luhtakana, pajusirkku, rytikerttunen, rastaskerttunen and ruokokerttunen.
