Description
Along the towpath, a great variety of bird species can be discovered on the gravel banks of the Danube and in the surrounding fields and light woodlands. The large colony of merihanhi is particularly impressive, joined especially in winter by tundrahanhi and tundrametsähanhi. Various duck species, cormorants, and herons can also be easily observed here. From spring onwards, the gravel banks are populated by various waders.
