Description

West Belconnen Pond is located in North Western Canberra, right near the ACT/NSW state border. A trail runs around the pond and begins and ends from the parking area on Percy Begg Circuit, in the suburb of Dunlop. Over 160 bird species have been sighted here, including waterfowl, raptors, and various songbirds. Among the birds you can encounter in the area are Hoary-headed Grebe, Australasian Darter, Australian Pelican, Australasian Swamphen, Maned Duck, Pink-eared Duck and many more, see the birdlist below.
