The Greenough River flats and the river mouth south of Geraldton are a nice place for birdwatching.
Greenough Rivermouth is the place where the river Greenough flows into the sea. Explore the river’s edge and beach for Greater Crested Tern, Australian Pelican, Osprey, Pied Stilt and in summer watch out for shorebirds such as Red-capped Plover, Red-necked Stint, Grey Plover, Common Greenshank and Common Sandpiper.
Access Greenough River Mouth via Brand Hwy. About 10 km south of Geraldton, turn west on Greenough River Rd. Press P on the map for directions.
