Largest area of open space with access to the public in the Wyong area. The reserve is home to over 200 species of birds.
Central Coast Wetlands Pioneer Dairy is a 155-hectare reserve with swampland, open paddocks, landscaped areas and woodland. The area is flat and easy to walk along defined paths. There is a lagoon, grass, trees and a creek which are home to many bird species. Some notable birds include Whistling Kite and Wedge-tailed Eagle as well as various wrens and water birds. The wetlands are managed by volunteers who undertake maintenance and tree planting.
The wetlands are located at Wyong, approximately 100 km north of Sydney. Access to the site is via South Tacoma Road. Arrive by car and park in the large carpark. Press P on the map for directions to the carpark. With so many species you could spend all day there but allow at least a couple of hours. The walking trails shown on the map are about 2 km.
