Descripción
The Winsford Flashes are three shallow lakes along the course of the River Weaver that were created in 19th century as a result of ground subsidence from brine extraction. The Bottom Flash covers 90 acres, with a Marina on the north and Rilshaw Meadows in the west.
Marina attracts large number of Gaviota Reidora (many with colour rings), Cisne Vulgar, Focha Común, Barnacla canadiense grande, Gallineta Común, etc.
The Rilshaw Meadows is a small public park bordering the Flash and River where large number of gulls gather at all times of the year (Gaviota Cana, Gaviota argéntea europea, Gaviota sombría, etc.) The little forest along the river has breeding Pico Picapinos, Chochín Común, Petirrojo Europeo and other woodland species).
