Watchet Beach

Somerset  >  United Kingdom

A rocky beach with steep steps to get to it, but worth it especially in the winter. There is a small free car park or you can park in the town and walk easily.

Descripción

Watchet Beach is rocky and muddy and it attracts birds like Correlimos Común, Ostrero Euroasiático, Vuelvepiedras Común, and the occasional Zarapito Real. The best time is as the tide is retreating. I always go just after high tide. Sometimes you have to wait until tide retreats enough to access the beach, which is stone at the top with rock pools and mud exposed as the tide retreats.

Información extra

This is not a reserve or formal birdwatching place, its just good in the autumn and winter although you still get a fair few (bird)visitors in the summer too.
