Descripción

The Needles and the cliffs of the Isle of Wight are an important place for many birds as they have such a large diversity of Birdlife. The nesting seabirds on the cliffs include Cormorán Moñudo, Alcatraz Atlántico, Arao Común and Fulmar Boreal. The top of the cliffs has nice areas of both scrub and lowland heath, which provide great habitat for species like Curruca Rabilarga, Tarabilla común and Bisbita Costero. Occasionally you can also spot storm blown birds such as Pardela Pichoneta and Paíño Europeo.

Accesso

The Needles are located on the edge of the Isle of Wight, quite close to Totland and Freshwater ( which are both villages ). If you go past Chris Church ( which is located in Totland ), you then need to continue on the same road until you reach the car park for Alum Bay Pebble beach. Once you reach this car park you can either walk down to the National Trust Victorian coastal exhibit, or you can drive down there and park next to it ( note walking can be better if you want to spot more birds, the route as shown on the map below is about 3,5 km ).
