Descripción

At low tide there is a large area of exposed mud, the Southern side road of the estuary has the advantage of the sun being behind you reducing 'glare', with frequent pull ins (DO NOT LEAVE CAR BLOCKING GATEWAYS) and car parks. Unfortunately the Northern side road is facing the sun and has few places to stop, with the estuary mostly obscured by trees and shrubs.

Accesso

Leave the A380 at Newton Abbot onto the B3195 to Shaldon, pass through Netherton, just after the village of Combeinteignhead take a left on minor road to Coombe Cellars Public House, where there is a car park. After here return to Combeinteignhead and turn left B3195 to Shaldon, along this road when it gets close to estuary, there is a small car park on a bend. After here continue heading towards Shaldon, the road at times right next to estuary (DO NOT BLOCK GATEWAYS), just before the bridge connecting Shaldon/Teignmouth there is limited on street parking on Riverside/Albion Street on the right next to the church, enabling you to check up and down the estuary. From here continue over bridge and turn left back to Newton Abbot, look for a lay-by on the left (2 hour stay and no return in 24 Hours), that gives good wide views of the estuary. From here views of estuary are obscured by trees/shrubs, until you get to Passage House Inn at the end of Hackney Lane, where there is another car park.
