Sutton Bank

North Yorkshire  >  United Kingdom

The North York Moors National Park Visitor Centre is a good compact area for birds of open woodland and scrub, and also has superb views.

Descripción

Sutton Bank has some excellent birding around it, including being one of Britain's northernmost locations to see Tórtola Europea. The bird feeders around the visitor centre buildings often attract this, as well as Tórtola Turca, Escribano Cerillo and tits including Carbonero Palustre. The surrounding open woodlands and scrub hold Bisbita Arbóreo and several warblers.

Best visited in the early morning or late afternoon, when there are fewer people around, but the birds are mostly used to human presence and some can be seen at the feeders all day even when the site is crowded.
