Descripción
This is an SSSI sight and comprises of a body of water (Flash), ancient woodland, Grass Meadow and Magnesium Limestone bedrock, there has been a total of 190 bird species recorded here Including Avetoro Común, Martín Pescador Común, Águila Pescadora, Halcón Peregrino, Busardo ratonero, Rascón Europeo, Cárabo Común, Pito Real, Pico Picapinos, Cuchara Común, Ánade friso, Cetia Ruiseñor, Curruca Zarcerilla, Carricerín Común, Trepador Azul to mention a few. The meadows are a great spot for wild Orchids and the woodland has a row of ancient Yew possibly dating back to Roman times. Other Mammals include Roe Deer, Stoat, Weasel, and Fox.

Best explored on foot, Sprotbrough Flash is half a mile south of Sprotbrough village. You can park just off the road on Nursery Lane next to the river, please note that this can get very busy. From here it is a two minute walk along the towpath to the nature reserve. OS Map Reference SE 53730 01502

Public and permissive footpaths. The woodland is not suitable for wheelchair users or pushchairs. The towpath along the river Don is level and accessible for wheelchair users, although it is a fair distance to the bird hides. Both hides are wheelchair-accessible.
