Lytchett Bay is part of Poole Harbour in South East Dorset and is fast becoming of legendary status.

Some past sightings have included Aguilucho Cenizo, Guión de Codornices, Alcaraván Común, Cigüeñuela común, Mosquitero Bilistado and Pardillo Piquigualdo.

(*A), Lytchett Fields :- managed by the RSPB, now completely tidal and on high tides are excellent for waders and wildfowl.

(*B), French's Farm :- an area of fields, hedgerows and trees.

(*C) Lytchett Heath :- owned and managed by Dorset Wildlife Trust with help by Amphibian and Reptile Conservation, during Summer Chotacabras Europeo are present, also one of the favoured places for Curruca Rabilarga.

(*D) Lytchett Way :- also managed by Dorset Wildlife Trust, also gives views over the Bay.

(*E) Lytchett Bay View :- a local Parish council site with trees and grassland that is used as a Summer Meadow, paths head through trees to a West facing large viewpoint (late afternoon low Winter sun can cause 'glare').

(*F) Turlin Bird Screen :- on the Southern shoreline has wide open views.

PARKING :- Use French's Farm Car Park for (*A) and (*B) areas, if this car park is full use Upton Recreation Ground Car Park nearby. For all other areas use on street parking, BE WARNED do not obstruct access, the roads are part of a BUS ROUTE, leave enough room for large vehicles to pass, POLICE MAY BE CALLED IF YOU OBSTRUCT. Accesso

From West on A35 take slip road signed Blanford/Upton/Hamworthy (B3068), at large Upton roundabout take third exit signed Upton/Hamworthy, (*1) continue on this road (Blanford Road). At next double mini roundabouts follow signs to Lytchett Minster B3067, on entering a wooded section (DO NOT cross over A35) turn Left into Policemans Lane, continue on until bend in road and turn Right into Watery Lane (unsigned). Pass by BLUE Unsuitable For Motor Vehicles sign, French's Farm car park is on the Left. If traveling from the East on A35 follow signs to Blanford A350/Upton/Hamworthy B3068, at large Upton roundabout take first exit signed Upton/Hamworthy and follow (*1) above.
