Descripción

The Crossness Nature Reserve area is split into two areas with one being enclosed and managed by Thames Water. Access to this area can be sought by membership for a minimal fee. (Contact Thames Water.) A mixture of regular and migrant birds can be seen at the location. The wetland areas have warblers and wildfowl, whereas the Thames shoreline attracts waders, gulls, terns and wildfowl. Birds that may be seen: amongst others, Carricerín Común, Cetia Ruiseñor, Collalba Gris, Cerceta Común, Silbón Europeo, Cuchara Común, Tarro Blanco, etc. Halcón Peregrino can sometimes be seen roosting and hunting on and from high riverside buildings.

Accesso

Nearest railway station is Belvedere at about 1km away from southern edge of site. Busses 180 and 401 stop fairly close. Car parking is limited to surrounding residential or industrial areas but minimal restrictions are in place. The site is best seen on foot but cycles can access the Thames river path. Footpaths for reasonable access with wheelchair access along the edges and river path.
