The stretch of coastal path between Abereiddi and Porthgain has a few interesting landmarks, there having been a slate mine here until 1910. The carpark at southern end is popular with sea-kayak rental firms and adventure tourism that take schoolchildren from the nearby hostel to swim in the so called Blue Lagoon. At the northern end, a picturesque old harbour is a wonderful place to enjoy fish and chips.
Along the path here expect to see Collalba Gris, Curruca Zarcera, Tarabilla común, Pardillo Común and Alondra Común in breeding season. Cernícalo vulgar, Cuervo Grande, are likely year round. Chova Piquirroja is possible.
Gulls including Gavión Atlántico and Fulmar Boreal are likely flying past and Alcatraz Atlántico or Cormorán Grande may be seen out to sea.

The walk can be done as a there-and-back starting from either end but parking in the large National Trust managed pay-and-display at Abereiddi beach is likely to be the easiest option. There are toilets here open in the summer (but no disabled or baby-change facilities).
There is a bus route called the Strumble Shuttle that goes between Abereiddi and Porthgain so could be used to help plan a point-to-point, or to access one of the ends from other nearby towns. The walk is about 3,5 km one way.
