Around lake Mattmarksee you can search for one of the most beautiful mountainbirds, the Treparriscos, which likes to live near water. Other birds you can find here are Acentor Alpino, Lavandera Cascadeña and Vencejo Real. From the lake you can walk up the mountain and see Chova Piquigualda fouraging in groups near the "refugio", where you can also search for Gorrión Alpino. There is a chance of seeing Águila Real and Quebrantahuesos flying by.

On the Swiss side you can get here by car and walk. On the Italian side you can go up to Monte Moro by cable car or climb up by hiking.
