Descripción

The Heidsee is a picturesque area in a unique mountain setting. In contrast to many other mountain lakes, there is some reedbed here and corresponding water birds (breeding area for Porrón Moñudo, Zampullín Común, Focha Común and Porrón Europeo). Species of the alpine coniferous forests can be observed in the tree groups (Carbonero Garrapinos, Herrerillo Capuchino, Cascanueces Común, Camachuelo Común). Highlights include the Curruca Zarcerilla, Andarríos Chico, Pardillo Alpino, and Colirrojo Real. The lake does not appear to be frequently observed during the migration periods, so there could be a few surprises in addition to the 106 species that have been observed here so far.

Accesso

The Heidsee can be easily reached by public transport (Postbus from Chur in the direction of Lenzerheide to Valbella). Press P on the map for directions to a parking. The well-developed hiking trail around the lake (about 3,5 km) also leads to several small islands with barbecue areas. The area is heavily frequented by tourists. A visit is particularly worthwhile early in the morning in late spring, summer and early autumn.
