The Stora Kärret wetland is smaller than the close by Dalkarlskärret wetland and attracts therefore fewer birds. It is a short walk from the parking lot and the area contains one observation tower from which you can see across the entire wetland.

By car one can drive from central Uppsala towards Enköping. Right outside of Uppsala you turn left towards Uppsala näs. Turn right at the sign "Hammarskog 5", it is best to use google maps from here to the parking lot as it is easily missed.
