Skillingaryds Dämme was built as a water treatment plant. Measures taken in recent years have resulted in a new wetland and wet meadows. The new environment with shallow ponds and bushes attracts birds like Rascón Europeo, Gallineta Común, Lavandera Blanca, Chorlitejo Chico, Avión Zapador, Martín Pescador Común, Andarríos Chico and Porrón Osculado.
