Descripción

During winter most of the Norrbysjön lake is covered in ice, but where Motala ström meets Norrbysjön the water is ususally open year round. During this period large flocks of Focha Común, Serreta Grande, Ánade azulón, Porrón Moñudo, Cisne Vulgar, Barnacla canadiense grande, Gaviota argéntea europea and Porrón Osculado can be found. Often numbering in the hundreds. Within these flocks rarer wintering birds like Somormujo Lavanco, Avefría Europea, Cisne Cantor, dabbling ducks, Zampullín Común , Ánsar careto, Estornino Pinto, Porrón Europeo, and Cormorán Grande can be spotted. The large amounts of wintering birds attract birds of prey like Pigargo Europeo, Busardo ratonero, and Aguilucho pálido.

When the ice melts large amounts of pipits, larks, geese, Cisne Cantor, and sometimes Cisne Chico, use the fields around the lake as feeding grounds. The lake is usually filled with many dabbling ducks, gulls and terns. Husbyängarna are often flodded, and usually hold wading birds like Agachadiza Chica, Archibebe Común, Chorlitejo Grande, Avefría Europea, and Archibebe Claro. The reedbeds around the lake are now filled with birds. Some rare birds who are sometimes found around the lakes are Avetoro Común, Buscarla Unicolor, Bigotudo and Carricero Tordal. Some rare terns and gulls like Gaviota Enana and Fumarel Común pass the lake during the spring migration.

Some rarer breeding birds at the lake are Carricero Tordal, Avetoro Común, Perdiz Pardilla, Pico Menor, Guión de Codornices and Martín Pescador Común. Norrbysjön is and excellent area for night active birds. Around the lake Guión de Codornices, Codorniz Común, Buscarla Pintoja, Ruiseñor Ruso, Buscarla Fluvial, Carricero Políglota can often be heard at the lake.

During autumn large amounts of geese start to visit the lake again. Many more passerine birds can be found on the fields. Among these Escribano Nival, Escribano Lapón and Bisbita Gorgirrojo are often found. Hundreds of Chorlito Dorado Europeo can often be found on the fields. Sometimes marine ducks like Negrón común and Negrón especulado stay at the lake.
