Lake Lagårdssjön in Strömsholm is ranked as one of the best birding sites in Västmanland. From a nice platform (that is handicapped accessible) you have a good view over the wetland. Especially in the spring, the lake is well visited by ducks, geese and waders. A spotting scope is a must. Among the birds you can encounter are Andarríos Bastardo, Chorlitejo Chico, Pigargo Europeo, Ánsar común, Cuchara Común, Fumarel Común, Grulla Común, Alcotán Europeo, Agachadiza común, Águila Pescadora and many more, see the birdlist below.
