Descripción
A huge rockface carved out by the river Tagus. A large observation platform allows for great views and above all, one of the best birdwatching experiences in Europe. The most reliable place in the park for the endangered Cigüeña Negra, of which 3-5 pairs breed every year; look for their nest just above the water line and in the big crevice in the center of the rock face. Alimoche Común also breeds most years. Lastly, make sure to check particularly high-flying raptors since Águila Imperial Ibérica overfly this site with some frequency (as of 2025).

SíInformación extra
This is the best spot in the park for Cigüeña Negra, of which there are several pairs at this site. Buitre Negro is also a regular here. Over the years the Salto has produced Halcón Peregrino, all 5 breeding eagle species, both kites and all 3 vultures. Therefore this is deservingly the top site in Monfragüe National Park.
