Plans de Sió is a large steppe-type area, dominated by single-crop cereal farming, located in the Segarra region. It is a dry landscape with some shrubs or scrub. Steppe bird species, such as Aguilucho Cenizo, Sisón Común and Alcaraván Común breed in the area, but can be hard to find. The more common birds include Perdiz Roja, Buitre Leonado, Culebrera Europea, Águila calzada, Milano Real, Abubilla común, Alcaudón real, Calandria Común, Cernícalo vulgar and Escribano Triguero. Sometimes Águila Imperial Ibérica is observed.
