Descripción

The Alfacada Lagoon is a very important and important natural wetland in the Ebro Delta. It is part with the Tancada, of the last natural wetlands of the Delta not occupied by rice cultivation. There is a great diversity of wetlands due to the differences in water level and salinity. Thus a very great diversity of bird species reproduces there or stops there in migration or in wintering. You can see great birds here like Pájaro-moscón Europeo, Garcilla Cangrejera, Calamón Común and Garza Imperial.

In autumn, migration is reversed from north to south including dotterel and many waders. In winter, there are many winter visitors, such as divers, black-necked grebe, stork, stonechat, scoters, booted eagle, osprey and many species of waders.

Of course also the species that are there all year round such as moustached warbler, audouin's gull, slender-billed gull, egrets, penduline tit, cetti warbler, flamingo, short-toed lark, crested lark, red crested pochard, Kentish plover.
