Descripción
Els Muntanyans of Torredembarra and Creixell is a natural wetland situated between the sea and the railway. This natural site holds several small ponds, saltmarshes with glasswort and small dunes where interesting reptiles can be found like spiny-footed lizard (Acanthodactylus erythrurus). In the wetlands several bird species can be seen during all the year like Ánade azulón, Zampullín Común, Gallineta Común, Gaviota Patiamarilla, and other birds like Curruca Cabecinegra, Tarabilla común or Cistícola Buitrón.
The site is remarkable because the Chorlitejo patinegro breeds in this wetland and Calamón Común has also bred. But is during migrations when the site is more interesting as several shorebird species can be found, like Chorlitejo Grande, Correlimos Tridáctilo or Archibebe Común , and several small passerines occur in the reeds, the marshy areas and the dunes; is the case of Collalba Gris, Tarabilla Norteña, Carricero Común, Curruca Capirotada and several swallows. Gaviota de Audouin is present most of the year except in winter months.
