Descripción
Casas de Hitos is an area of ricefields where thousands of Grulla Común can be seen from October to early March. Also large numbers of Cigüeña Blanca and Ruiseñor Pechiazul overwinter here. Huge concentrations of passage waders stop here for a few weeks every autumn and spring, including Aguja Colinegra, Combatiente, Correlimos Menudo, Correlimos de Temminck, Avoceta Común, Correlimos Comúnand Chorlito Dorado Europeo. Canastera Común and Chorlitejo Chico breed here when the fields are dry. Cetia Ruiseñor, Bengalí Rojo, Estrilda Común, Cistícola Buitrón and Zarcero Políglota are numerous. Avutarda Euroasiática and Sisón Común can be seen here, but the tall vegetation makes it rather difficult, and Ganga Ortega often give good views. Elanio Común breed and feed in the area.
