Descripción
Grytviken still has many remnants of the whaling station, as well as a post office, a museum and a church. Grytviken is also notable for it's graveyard, which includes the graves of the polar explorers Sir Ernest Shackleton and Frank Wild. The museum has a number of displays of the local fauna and one can observe the true scale of the Wandering Albatross as one walks in. One can also observe the local fauna here including many Antarctic Fur Seals, molting King Penguin and Antarctic Tern.

Grytviken is located on the north coast of the island of South Georgia, in the middle of the island. The site is accessed by boats, either a research vessel or a cruise boat.
