Descripción
The Tamiš embankment near Sefkerin (part of the wider stretch from Opovo to Pančevo) presents a mosaic of different habitats, offering opportunities to observe marshland and bushy grassland/farmland species simultaneously from one spot, both during the breeding and wintering seasons. This area also contains some of the best remaining lowland riparian gallery forests near Belgrade, with old poplars and willows. There are high concentrations of some locally interesting species not that often seen near Belgrade, most notably Curruca Gavilana, Zarcero Pálido, Buscarla Fluvial and Tórtola Europea. There are also a couple of breeding pairs of Pigargo Europeo in the area, observed regularly at this location, as well as Picamaderos Negro. Come winter, you are very likely to see Aguilucho pálido, Alcaudón Norteño, and flocks of Pinzón Real and Camachuelo Común.
