Descripción
Mužlja Reeds and Sands is an interesting area, created after abandoned sand and gravel pits are filled with water, creating a unique landscape with lakes, ponds, reeds, sand dunes, and cliffs.
As such, it is a perfect habitat for Carraca Europea, Abejaruco Europeo, Cogujada Común, Avión Zapador and Collalba Gris. Also commmon are Ruiseñor Pechiazul, Tarabilla común, Alcaudón Dorsirrojo, Alcaudón Chico, Carricerín Común, Garza Imperial, and Aguilucho Lagunero Occidental. During August and September, the remaining ponds are visited by various shorebirds, including many Tringa and Calidris species.

Currently, the new highway Belgrade-Zrenjanin-Novi Sad is being built immediately north of the hotspot. There might be a lot of machinery and a lot of noise, but new ponds may also arise because of earthwork.
Mužlja Reeds and Sands are sometimes a paintball polygon, hopefully not at the time of your visit.
