Descripción

The Romeiras area is a regular site for the presence of iconic large birds of prey, such as Águila Imperial Ibérica, Águila Real, and Águila perdicera, as well as Buitre Leonado and Buitre Negro. It is also common to observe some species typically associated with steppe areas, like Sisón Común, Ganga Ortega, Cernícalo Primilla, Carraca Europea, and also Collalba Rubia and Cogujada Montesina. With a constant water presence, it regularly attracts various species of waterfowl, as well as species like Canastera Común and Pagaza Piconegra during the breeding season.

Accesso

The Romeiras site is located near the villages of Alvares, Penilhos and Romeiras. You can reach the area either via the municipal road CM1145, which leads to Alvares, or the municipal road EM509, which provides access to Penilhos and Romeiras. The circular route indicated on the map is about 15 km.
