Descripción
Manta Rota is a nice area to walk around on the boardwalks through the low dunes or on the beach, where sometimes Gaviota de Audouin rests and Pagaza Piquirroja can fly over. In the low vegetation in the dunes there are Curruca Cabecinegra and Iberian Pito Real. In the hinterland very many Rabilargo Ibérico and on bare fields sometimes large groups of Alcaraván Común. In the early morning and evening hours sleeping migration of Garcilla Bueyera and Morito Común and both in the lagoon and at the river various wading bird species on migration.

The village of Manta Rota is located in the east of the Algarve, near the border with Spain. Press P on the map for directions to a parking spot. The area can be explored on foot from Manta Rota or Altura via the boardwalks. The route shown on the map is about 5 km (one way).
