Descripción
This spot is located 30 km north of Porto on the northern riverside of Ave estuary, where on low tide some mudflats become accessible for birds to forage. There is a nearby dock where gulls congregate. There (and looking from there to the southern river side), it's possible to spot Gaviota Patiamarilla (all year around) but it particularly pays off to keep and eye on gulls during winter since it's possible to find Gaviota sombría, Gaviota Reidora, Gaviota Cabecinegra, Gaviota Cana and Gavión Atlántico. On the mudflats it's easy to spot Vuelvepiedras Común and Andarríos Chico. During migration the mudflats serve as a stopover site for waders and it's possible to spot Zarapito Real, Aguja Colipinta and Aguja Colinegra. On the trees and garden spaces its possible to find Mirlo Común, Petirrojo Europeo, Jilguero Europeo, Curruca Capirotada, Carbonero Común, Serín Verdecillo and Cogujada Común, to name just a few.
