Estação Agronómica Oeiras is an agricultural research institute. A green area of 130 hectares that is conventiently close to the centre of Oeiras and the railway station. The Estação Agronómica provides a variety of habitats (active farmland, abandoned farmland, woods, a stream) and about 100 bird species have been recorded. Golondrina Dáurica, Avión Común, Golondrina Común and Avión Roquero can all be seen. The stream of Rio das Parreiras is reliable for Lavandera Cascadeña and Martín Pescador Común.
