Descripción
During the spring many waterbirds breed in the Ruda Fishponds Grebes such as Zampullín Común, Somormujo Lavanco and Somormujo Cuellirrojo. During migration many ducks can be seen, most interesting: Ánade rabudo norteño, Cuchara Común, Ánade friso, Cerceta Carretona and Cerceta Común, and sometimes others. Martín Pescador Común can be seen every time on the river flowing through the complex. In the reeds you can hear and see Bigotudo, Carricero Tordal, Pájaro-moscón Europeo, Carricero Común and various other species of warblers. In the sky raptors such as Pigargo Europeo, Busardo ratonero, Gavilán Común and Azor Común. Various songbird species live in the nearby forest as well. During the migration plenty of shorebirds stop by. Archibebe Claro, Andarríos Bastardo, Agachadiza común, Combatiente, Andarríos Grande and Andarríos Chico being the most common ones.

One small parking spot behind the bridge on the river. Click on the P in the map for directions. Don't wander of the paths as it's a privately owned area. The area can only be visited on foot. The circular route indicated on the map is about 5 km.
