Ustaoset is a mountain village at an elevation of 990 meters above sea level. The landscape around Ustaoset is a mix of high-altitude plateaus, rugged mountain terrain, and pristine lakes. It is a popular destination for outdoor enthusiasts, especially for skiing in winter and hiking in summer. The village provides access to a beautiful landscape with mountain streams, snow, and a lot of shrubbery. I have seen Ruiseñor Pechiazul, Mosquitero Musical, Zorzal Alirrojo, Zorzal Real and Cuco Común.

Ustaoset is a stop on the Bergen Line, which connects Oslo and Bergen. It's 5 hours by train from Oslo. Also easy accessible by car. Press P on the map for directions. The walking route indicated on the map is a fairly tough route of about 17 km, but of course you can choose shorter and easier walking routes. There are numerous different walking trails to choose from.
