Salvøy is an island located on the west side of Karmøy in Rogaland. The island is connected to the mainland by an embankment to Ospøynå and from there a bridge to Karmøy. The sheltered bays around Salvøy are a good place for observing ducks, loons and grebes in winter. Among the birds you can spot are Zampullín Común, Arao Aliblanco, Zampullín Cuellirrojo, Colimbo Chico, Colimbo Grande, Serreta Mediana, Negrón común, Somormujo Cuellirrojo, Pigargo Europeo, Cisne Vulgar, Arao Común, Gaviota argéntea europea and Gavión Atlántico.
