In the Westerheide Alondra Común are still numerous and during the migration period a stretch of meadow is used by Mirlo Capiblanco and buntings. Tarabilla común can be found on every protruding stem and in summer Alcotán Europeo can be seen hunting on a variety of dragonflies. Recently, Chotacabras Europeo have started to sing occasionally in this heath area.

Nederlands: De Westerheide is een heidegebied in de buurt van Hilversum. Hier is de Alondra Común nog talrijk en tijdens de trekperiode wordt een strook weiland gebruikt door Mirlo Capiblanco en gorzen. Tarabilla común is te vinden op elke uitstekende stengel en in de zomer is de Alcotán Europeo te zien jagend op een verscheidenheid aan libellen. Sinds kort zingen Chotacabras Europeo af en toe in dit heidegebied.
