The Vennebulten is a nature reserve of approximately 40 hectares and borders nature reserve Aaltense Goor. The Vennebulten consist of fens with hills covered with juniper, heather, Scots pine, oak and birch. The area has a modern observation tower. The Aaltense Goor has a size of approximately 200 hectares. The marshy grounds were reclaimed for use as grassland. It is a bocage landscape with meadows bordered by green vegetation and straight long paths. A variety of woodland, heathland and meadow birds can therefore be seen in both areas. Birds you can find in the area include Ruiseñor Común, Oropéndola Europea, Curruca Mosquitera, Escribano Cerillo, Alcaudón Dorsirrojo, Bisbita Arbóreo, Tarabilla común, Curruca Zarcera, Papamoscas Gris, Pico Picapinos, Picamaderos Negro, Cuco Común and Avefría Europea.

Nederlands: De Vennebulten is een natuurgebied van ongeveer 40 hectare en grenst aan natuurreservaat Aaltense Goor. De Vennebulten bestaan uit vennen met heuvels die begroeid zijn met jeneverbes, heide, grove dennen, eik en berk. Het gebied heeft een moderne uitkijktoren. De Aaltense Goor heeft een omvang van ongeveer 200 hectare. De moerassige gronden zijn vanaf de 18e eeuw ontgonnen om te gebruiken als grasland. Het is een coulissenlandschap, weilanden omzoomd door singels en rechte lange paden. Er is dus een verscheidenheid aan bos-, heide- en weidevogels in beide gebieden te zien. Vogels die je in het gebied kunt aantraffen zijn onder meer Ruiseñor Común, Oropéndola Europea, Curruca Mosquitera, Escribano Cerillo, Alcaudón Dorsirrojo, Bisbita Arbóreo, Tarabilla común, Curruca Zarcera, Papamoscas Gris, Pico Picapinos, Picamaderos Negro, Cuco Común en Avefría Europea.

The Vennebulten and the Aaltense Goor are located 3 km northeast of Varsseveld and 3 km northwest of Aalten. You can park along the road at the entrance to the Vennebulten. Click on the P in the map for directions.
