The Salsa Terra recreational forest is located just outside Zoutelande. This small area has a lot of variation in flora and fauna. Difference in long and short grass, reed borders and a creek attract makes it a rest and breeding area for several bird species.. More than a hundred different bird species have already been seen. Since many bird species cross the Western Scheldt between Westkapelle and Vlissingen during bird migration, many migratory birds also pass by in the area. Among the birds you can see in the area are Porrón Moñudo, Zarcero Icterino, Arrendajo Euroasiático, Ostrero Euroasiático, Pito Real, Carricero Común, Curruca Capirotada and Jilguero Europeo.

Verschil in lang en kort gras, rietkragen en een kreekje trekken veel vogels aan. Er zijn al meer dan honderd verschillende vogelsoorten gezien. Aangezien er tussen Westkapelle en Vlissingen veel vogelsoorten de Westerschelde oversteken tijdens de vogeltrek, komen er in het gebied ook veel trekvogels langs.
